Spiritual Formation

San Jose Catholic School's religion curriculum reinforces the church's teaching of the sacraments and catechism and presents a model of Christian fellowship through the highly acclaimed Silver-Burdett Ginn text.  In addition, we offer:

• Weekly and Holy Day Mass attendance

• Opportunities for Reconciliation

• Opportunities for stewardship

• Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist (2nd Grade)

• Preparation for Confirmation (8th Grade)

The Arts

• Students in grades K through 8 attend art classes taught by a qualified, experienced and talented artist and teacher.

• All grades, Pre-K through 8th, attend music classes in a music room fully equipped with a multitude of child-friendly musical instruments.  Music Classes are taught by a talented, full-time, certified music teacher.

• Children in grades 1 through 6 perform to an enthusiastic audience of parents and family in the Christmas musical.

• The annual play/musical has become and SJC tradition, with students displaying their many talents in junior productions such as The Jungle Book, Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, Music Man, Once on This Island, Fiddler on the Roof, Annie and The Sound of Music.

• Students have the opportunity for extracurricular involvement in choir, ensemble, performing arts and the visual arts.

Facilities

San Jose Catholic School strives to continually upgrade its physical surroundings to aid in the development of its students.  We have:

• A state-of-the-art media center with an on-line card catalogue networked to computers in each classroom.

• A state-of-the-art computer lab with 35 computers (updated in January 2006) and monitored internet access.

• Two fully-equipped science labs, open to all grades.

• Athletic accommodations for interscholastic basketball, volleyball, soccer and softball.

• A separate playground for Early Childhood students.

• A fully equipped kitchen and cafeteria staff serving lunches every day.

• Extended School Care until 6:00 pm

• Our campus is monitored by state-of-the-art security systems.

• Cable access for all classrooms.
